WPD: Watertown man’s BAC was 0.23%

WATERTOWN, NY —  Jeremiah J. Shinkle, 36, of 711 LeRay St., Apt. 2, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 6:44 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the 800 block of LeRay Street with aggravated driving while intoxicated and following too close.

His blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater.

He is summoned to appear Dec. 11 in City Court.
