Yvonne M. Levos, 68, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Yvonne M. Levos, 68, Watertown, passed away May 18, 2019, at Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born Feb. 18, 1951, in Watertown, daughter of Nagia and Hannah Manassa Habeeb, she graduated in 1969 from Watertown High School.

She married Jerry P. Levos on Oct. 7, 1973, at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church.

Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Jerry, and father, Nagia Habeeb.

Yvonne was employed at her family’s neighborhood store, The Red & White, on Mill Street. She also worked alongside her husband and children at their family business, CFM Food Distributors.

Yvonne especially enjoyed cooking Greek & Arabic cuisine for her family and friends, especially around Christmas, putting together food shows and company picnics at CFM, attending to her home and taking care of her two dogs, Sophia & Tia.

Yvonne’s greatest priority was taking care of her husband and two sons.

An active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, she was a former co-chair of the Pastry Committee.

Yvonne was a dance instructor at Dee’s Dancing Academy, where she participated in dance reviews and instructed at children’s camps.

Surviving are her mother, Hannah Habeeb; two sons, Peter (Beth Ann) and Paul, all of Watertown; a brother, Edward (Ann) Habeeb, Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia; a sister, Cindy (John) Bufalini, Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Penny Levos, Watertown and Maria Gezerlis, Troy; her nieces and nephews, Michael Bufalini, Maria Bufalini, Greg (Christy) Habeeb, Scott (Julie) Habeeb, Kristin (Michael) Elder, Hannah Habeeb, Spyro (Gina) Gezerlis, Margaret Gezerlis.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc., 135 Keyes Ave., Watertown. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Philip Yanulis officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
